TEST DRIVE MEME!

WHAT HAPPENS IN SPACE VEGAS STAYS IN SPACE VEGAS

The ship has made a stop at a city-planet to acquire some supplies-- and just everyone's luck, it's one of those wonderful mostly-lawless places where you can do or get pretty much anything. About the only thing the local government seems to frown on is outright murder, though it's quickly apparent that most of the planet's places of business include some rather heavily-armed security to deter thieves and other ne'er-do-wells. Still, it's a chance to get away from the zombies and breathe some non-recycled atmosphere for a while...

Scenarios:

#1: Screw that, I'm staying on board.

Just what it says on the tin. Your character has some plans now that the ship's mostly cleared of both unwilling passengers and zombies.. the Master might even be away! Time for a little reconnaissance behind locked doors?

#2: All work and no play makes Jack something something.

Unhappily for you, you were given a mission on-planet that you should probably try to complete before you go have fun... well, unless you want to get your air supply cut off or any of another thousand yucky things. Thankfully, you just have to pick up that really big palette of mysterious crates watched over by those really big unsmiling dudes.. or was it that other big stack of crates?

#3: Well it's not technically illegal.

There's something on-planet-- money, technology, shinies, whatever your character's heart desires. Only problem is, you can't seem to acquire it by normal economic activities. Ocean's Eleven in Space, anyone?

#4: The chips are down.

It's Space Vegas. Your character is gonna go have a look at the space casinos, or take in a space MMA battle, or whatever other ridiculous thing you can think of on a planet where you can do pretty much anything you can afford... and you've got just enough in credits or barter to cash in...

#5: Wild card! Choose your own adventure!

DO

~Post a top-level comment for a character who will be NEW to the game. So, like.. everybody. If you want to.

~Make sure to label your post with your character's name and originating canon.

~Tag as if you're already stuck on this wonderful ship! Make sure to read through the game info before tagging.

~If you are really shy, try tagging one of the threads already there!

DON'T

~Walk out of the airlocks without a space suit. Jeeze.

~Taunt happy fun ball.

Maya was sneaking around on the ship. Everyone was gone. She hadn't really wanted to go down to Space Vegas. The creepy zombies were gone, which was good. She was pretty sure that the annoying PA guy was gone too. That was a relief. He was so annoying.

Maya was currently trying to get into one of the many locked doors all over the ship. Okay, so she might have been trying to get into creepy PA announcer guy's room. What was he hiding in there? Well there was only one way to find out!

Trying to enter in codes to get into the Master's room currently wasn't working, but it hadn't sent any zombies or security droids after her, yet. Maya wasn't the greatest at sneaking missions, so that is what she was currently working on. She wasn't being super-quiet about it either, so she'd be easy to find and discover.

2-Never Not Missioning

MDR-27 scanned the area below him with a hand up on the upper area above him, clasped around the railing as he stood on the catwalk. The large goods he couldn't move without some help despite his higher lifting capacity than a standard combat robot, being modified from guarding materials tended to give that benefit. Then there was the group of guards there that were standing around the target. The robot had something that could fry unarmored humans in a single hit, whole point of a weapon that disperses amounts of heat in a hit. But he needed to review mission details and see if he had anyone helping on this. After all the rambling threats of the Master weren't just directed at him in particular.

Just he was the combat robot, so he was A: expendable and B: trained for this. 'cept driving a forklift/truck part.

3-A Standard Codex? HERE?

Martellus had scene what was the holy artifacts of his machine worshiping side of his faith. Oh, at least he thought so. One of those STCs would be like recovering the holy relics of Christ and the Apostles to a Christian. He just never though the would see one of those in this unholy swirl of abominations, probably the Master served Tzeentch. But he would endure it to ensure that they would never do something against the Imperium and the Emperor. For the moment, survival was of prime importance, then not falling to corruption.

But for once, he had a chance to make a difference. But he had none of these unholy 'credits' to trade with. Only proper Imperial Thrones. But there it was, in the ownership in this one Casino. He had no urge to engage in gambling, was not something a Space marine should engage in. Instead he would seek help, hopefully, from a pure human.

Mara Jade | Star Wars Expanded Universe

#3. Well it's not technically illegal

Customs was a joke at this particular spaceport; Mara was neither surprised nor particularly displeased.  She wanted to do some poking around, and the possibility of stirring up trouble was decidedly present.

It didn't take long for her to find it, either; apparently they'd gone so far beyond the borders of anything the Old Republic had ever touched that a local crimelord coming into possession of a lightsaber was big and exciting news.  And while Mara was no Jedi, and had no interest in calling herself one, she'd gotten used to having a lightsaber again.  Being suddenly without it -- especially when Outbound Flight was mysteriously absent of all its Jedi and apparently all their possessions -- didn't sit well with her.  Neither did the idea of some bit of slime hanging onto one.

And conveniently, those two bits of distaste combined with some elegance.

So there was Mara, combing through the seedier areas of the spaceport (not like any of it wasn't seedy), gathering information and looking just as shifty as everyone around her.  A change from her much more businesslike shipboard persona, but one that served well to let her blend in.  Just had to get enough information to run on...

A bit of 2 and 5

There was a mission going on though it likely would not be one that would be talked about really, or taken seriously by most but when you are trying to be polite it was necessary. Finding someone willing to let him piggyback on their communications and help vouch that he wasn't a rouge or spy program was not as easy as one would think.

He could technically enter the place without a second thought, but he didn't need the rest of those he was on the ship with getting shot at or the people on this planet trying to delete him before he could explain he was just visiting. Sometimes being mostly energy and computer data was a bit of a hassle when you did not want to tempt fate in how long your solid form could last outside the ship.

Normally a place like this would be a goldmine and double edge sword for a quarian, for Veetor it was a test of courage as he darts nervously from one stall to the next. His mental shopping list being quickly checked off as he attempts to get everything he needs and back on the ship in as quick of a time as possible.

He'd probably have a heart attack if anyone so much as tapped him on the shoulder right now considering how wound up he is.

Clu 1.0 | TRON - #1 Screw it, I'm staying on board

[personal profile] tanks4thememory 2014-07-06 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Clu really had no desire to go to the system- planet- below then. He was just starting to get used to the ship and at any rate, most of the population being gone gave him a grand opportunity to do some real exploring. Currently, he was standing at a terminal trying to sift his way through broken and jumbled files for anything useful. There had to be something in here that could offer a clue as to what they were all doing here, and more importantly, how they could get back where they'd come from...

Thrawn | Star Wars EU

1) This was a moment for which Thrawn had been waiting. He remained in his quarters for the time it would take the majority to leave. Thrawn had plans, but more importantly, he wasn't the only one with plans.

He broke into the cabin three down from his and retrieved his tools from where they were hidden: rolled up in insulated cloth inside a wire conduit leading to the ceiling lights. That done, he left for his current goal.

3) Thrawn had made careful observation of the others trapped aboard the ship. There were many with capabilities beyond what he'd thought possible. All he needed now was to convince a couple of them to act in what was ultimately their mutual best interest.

To that end, he was approaching one of the other 'passengers' freshly off the ship and away from the prying eyes of the crew.

#1: Screw that, I'm staying on board

There was no way Claudia was living the ship. Not to just get onto a beach. Wasn't going to happen. A beach equals no technology, and the ship would prove to be more useful.

While wondering around the ship, and without any weapon the only thing she could do to the zombies was to book it. Or throw something to get their attention. Zombies aren't very normal, but she has seen stranger things.

When alone Claudia is trying to hack just about anything that's possible to hack. Just to get into the locked rooms, or open up a new place to explore. She has no shame for this. If anything she should be allowed to break into a room just for getting away from the zombies.

Maybe one of these days the curiosity thing was going to get him derezzed-- killed more like it-- but... Flynn wasn't about to pass up the chance to actually wander around on an alien world. Technically his second, maybe, but this was a bit bigger in scope than any simulation he might have cooked up as a younger man. Except.. he was fairly sure that the glowing gleam he spotted out of the corner of his eye belonged in the Grid and not a planet a few universes over.

Flynn followed the glow, frowning when it definitely resolved into what looked to him like an identity disk, like the one between his shoulder blades only definitely blue.

Deletion. He couldn't go now without properly checking it out. Now... how to actually get close enough to try and lift the thing? He didn't have Gibson's knack for the sticky fingers.
