TEST DRIVE MEME!
The ship has made a stop at a city-planet to acquire some supplies-- and just everyone's luck, it's one of those wonderful mostly-lawless places where you can do or get pretty much anything. About the only thing the local government seems to frown on is outright murder, though it's quickly apparent that most of the planet's places of business include some rather heavily-armed security to deter thieves and other ne'er-do-wells. Still, it's a chance to get away from the zombies and breathe some non-recycled atmosphere for a while...
Scenarios:
#1: Screw that, I'm staying on board.
Just what it says on the tin. Your character has some plans now that the ship's mostly cleared of both unwilling passengers and zombies.. the Master might even be away! Time for a little reconnaissance behind locked doors?
#2: All work and no play makes Jack something something.
Unhappily for you, you were given a mission on-planet that you should probably try to complete before you go have fun... well, unless you want to get your air supply cut off or any of another thousand yucky things. Thankfully, you just have to pick up that really big palette of mysterious crates watched over by those really big unsmiling dudes.. or was it that other big stack of crates?
#3: Well it's not technically illegal.
There's something on-planet-- money, technology, shinies, whatever your character's heart desires. Only problem is, you can't seem to acquire it by normal economic activities. Ocean's Eleven in Space, anyone?
#4: The chips are down.
It's Space Vegas. Your character is gonna go have a look at the space casinos, or take in a space MMA battle, or whatever other ridiculous thing you can think of on a planet where you can do pretty much anything you can afford... and you've got just enough in credits or barter to cash in...
#5: Wild card! Choose your own adventure!

He had just enough time to duck back inside when the truck scraped against another cargo vehicle, sparks pouring into the cab and scorching the seats.
"Right right. Steer in a straight line, willya?" Axl said, not arguing. It wasn't hard to figure out the controls, and after a few seconds spent actually looking at the alt fire settings Axl leaned out the window again, lining up his shot.
Well... you weren't Maverick if the guys were trying to kill you first.

It sounded like wretched, horrible, flaming, mechanical screaming. The thing accelerated to several thousand KPH within a few seconds, using explosive acceleration to motivate it's speed before it crashed into the buggy, exploding in a massive fireball of intensely burning, explosive fuel which would at least blind them to send them off course... if not out right disabling the vehicle.
Just when Axl looked back, he'd see MDR seeming kind of out of it, his normally bright lights flickering as he adjusted the truck, trying to keep it straight less out of needing to escape and more what looked like low energy. "Ow..." was all he said before he fell into the wheel and then slumped off to the side.

"Owwwww..."
He was about to continue on this very productive thread of whining when he saw his partner slump in the seat.
"Aw fragit," Axl yelped, lunging across the bench for the controls. It was a close one; the truck almost plowed into traffic.
"Switch switch I'll drive!"
Well, or he'd sit in the other robot's lap and drive. Whichever.

"Sorry! Shouldn't be too much farther from the dock. Think they only sent one vehicle though... hope so at least."

"Well, if we're that close they're gonna have to deal with everyone else!" he said, grinning rakishly. The dock and the shuttle loomed nearer, though Axl didn't exactly slow down for the security checkpoint on that end either. Just caroled back a "sorry!" when they zoomed through the gate.
"Home base! Yes~!"

"That we do! I'm Axl."
Why yes, yes he did just do that entire caper without any idea what is partner's name was. Someone had a short attention span ok.

"Hey, maybe we should meet up later. Call me?" He didn't have to bat his eyelashes, no, but it was funny so he did it anyway.
