TEST DRIVE MEME!

WHAT HAPPENS IN SPACE VEGAS STAYS IN SPACE VEGAS

The ship has made a stop at a city-planet to acquire some supplies-- and just everyone's luck, it's one of those wonderful mostly-lawless places where you can do or get pretty much anything. About the only thing the local government seems to frown on is outright murder, though it's quickly apparent that most of the planet's places of business include some rather heavily-armed security to deter thieves and other ne'er-do-wells. Still, it's a chance to get away from the zombies and breathe some non-recycled atmosphere for a while...

Scenarios:

#1: Screw that, I'm staying on board.

Just what it says on the tin. Your character has some plans now that the ship's mostly cleared of both unwilling passengers and zombies.. the Master might even be away! Time for a little reconnaissance behind locked doors?

#2: All work and no play makes Jack something something.

Unhappily for you, you were given a mission on-planet that you should probably try to complete before you go have fun... well, unless you want to get your air supply cut off or any of another thousand yucky things. Thankfully, you just have to pick up that really big palette of mysterious crates watched over by those really big unsmiling dudes.. or was it that other big stack of crates?

#3: Well it's not technically illegal.

There's something on-planet-- money, technology, shinies, whatever your character's heart desires. Only problem is, you can't seem to acquire it by normal economic activities. Ocean's Eleven in Space, anyone?

#4: The chips are down.

It's Space Vegas. Your character is gonna go have a look at the space casinos, or take in a space MMA battle, or whatever other ridiculous thing you can think of on a planet where you can do pretty much anything you can afford... and you've got just enough in credits or barter to cash in...

#5: Wild card! Choose your own adventure!

"It looked important." Yes, an overly obvious statement. But on an almost daily basis she gets yelled at for messing with things that are important to the Warehouse, and the mysterious cell seemed like it would be one of those kind of things.

Wow, it's official. Arty really is starting to train her. She's going to need to fix that sometime soon...

"I didn't know if it was Earth-techy, or something else. And the last time I messed with a communicator, Doctor Doom almost blew up Univille." Okay, so...not totally her fault. She still blames whoever thought up the IRS cover job.

"It looked important? Well, it is. It's how we communicate with each other." He gave a laughing noise, a little distorted by his communicator's warble. It didn't sound the best made. "Earth-Techy? You mean human built? Cause humans haven't lived on Earth for centuries where I'm from. I'm Earth-Techy though." He hits his chest. "Well, my program is. This core was built by the Heroic Space Academy. Um..."

He laughs some at a realization.

"That sounds a lot worse in Basic Than Standard. Uh, well, There's a really famous alien scientist who's named Space Starry Azimuth who, well, they get their name from their Element, Clan, and then a personal name related to the Element, and it's named after him and his element. Hero and Genius are the same word in Standard, so Heroic means it is quite high in it's caliber of learning. The used a human-designed chassis though, so I guess I'm still Earth-Techy in that regard."

MDR tended to ramble given a chance.

No...humans? Oh great, Earth's future now seems dull, and a tad bit...well, underwhelming. It's good to know that there was going to be robots in the future, but this just confirms the fact that the future was going to be one of many movies, and TV shows that have come out so far...and she can't help but make an annoyed sigh at the fact that she couldn't pick a movie/show that she'd like best.

"Sorry to disappoint, but while I do have a lot of quite possibly wrong ideas of the future, no real famous aliens come to mind in such a way." But this only means she's going to need to find a way to get said information, somehow. Maybe there's something about how Warehouse thirteen and up are doing...all she can hope is that no AI's were in charge.

"Sorry... I... well, ramble. Old robot in me." He could at least read her disappointment about what happened in the future. "Oh! Right, you're from the past. They thought AIs and stuff is scary. No, it's not like that. Earth was toxified, so humanity moved and transformed Mars. Most consider that the home-world now. Humanity's just fine! Apparently aliens made a colony in Earth's oceans, and when we uprooted them, well, that's where the toxin came from. I'm like... one of three, that human ever made as far as AIs went for... like 3 thousand years." He rubbed the front of his head before it fell down.

"Sorry, I'm rambling again. I was actually walking around to auto-map the place. If you'd like to come with me, we can talk and I can share the map specs with you."
snag_bag_tag: (Oh right. That was JUSt an ordinary day.)

[personal profile] snag_bag_tag 2014-07-16 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
"You know...I thought it would be Mars, but why couldn't we get to a cooler planet? The government spends enough time looking for planets like ours, then we just go to Mars." It's kind of a depressing reality to know that...all she can hope for is that the Warehouse got to a cooler place. And oh...so apparently he's an...old special snowflake. At least he doesn't seem evil.

"Yeah, sure. That could help me out later. This seems like a bad place to get lost." And he can probably deal with those zombies...hopefully.

"Well, Mars was the first. We hadn't mastered any FTL at the time, still reverse engineering the alien tech." He shrugged some, gesturing to follow him as he starts walking off now. "Half my circuits would have blown out trying to live on Venus, and I'm a robot!" He gave a small laugh as he starts wandering off. "So what were those artifacts you were talking about before, I don't know about any artifacts before... not sure actually. I missed a lot."
snag_bag_tag: (Are you seriously doubting my genious?)

"Alien tech...good to know at some point an alien does come to Earth, and...from what it sounds like, not destroy all humans like most people think they will." Because come on, why poke at the humans? Apparently they have to figure out alien tech before...non-Warehouse agents can do something cool. Though the teenager follows. She'll try her best to not stop at everything that looks nifty. "Right, artifacts...probably don't need to be a secret here. They're pretty much every day objects with supernatural power. There's everything from multiplying dodge-balls, to a lab coat, gloves, and goggles set that makes you magnetic."

[personal profile] protectorrobot 2014-07-16 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, they came here around 250,000 BC. They did TRY though to kill all humans, well, that's what we thought they were trying to do. They were just trying to scare us into surrendering, but massively underestimated our tech and botched it, as well as issuing a threat in French. Apparently they didn't bother to learn it very well. So we thought they were trying to kill all of us, so we killed all of them, well, on the planet," he gave a small steam release at that as he kept walking on.

"I'm already magnetic. Oh, right. Understand. Hrm... artifacts I know are just old techs of great power or imbued with psychic strength. Big one that I know about is the Imperial Garment. First Emperor made it and it vastly improves the vitals of any human that wears it. Though you have to subdue the AI and be human, so it's not the easiest thing to get wearing. First Emperor was supposed to be a cool dude though. Alexey Vlamdirnov. Or something." He knocks on his head as he wanders the halls, seeming to have no direction.

Then again, he had a gun bouncing as he was moving about. Good reason not to get too bothered.
snag_bag_tag: (Look. It's shiny and does cool things!)

"Alright! Score one for humans...They should've tried an Asian language though. A little bit harder to mess up." Since there's no time words, except for well...what time it is. There's no before or after...and more fun to draw. Hard for drawings to get mixed up...mostly.

"That's...different. Though I can say there's an artifact like that. Spine of the Saracen. Used to make warriors unstoppable in a battle. Using up all of the adrenaline, boosting muscles to increase strength, and all that. Bad side? You kinda die eventually...We had to kind of destroy that one."

Just wandering is fine by her. She's been figuring it out since she got here...on and off. It's really just a more confusing, and less helpful version of her phone...though better than the Farnsworth. She's already found a way to draw, and is crudely making a map.

He was just auto-mapping with his onboard systems. He thinks on it before nodding. "From what I understand, ours extends your life span. I find it hard to believe a single human lived 500 years, but that's what the records said. I don't know much about the thing, other than the Emperor of the Imperial Republic was required to be able to wear it, in addition to the election. Yeah, Elected Emperor. It's a weird government." He shrugged some.

"I think it might help to know what time Earth is when you're from. Help figure out what kind of stuff you'd know and what i'm just repeating."
snag_bag_tag: (Thinking up an excuse)

[personal profile] snag_bag_tag 2014-07-16 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, I'd say nothing you're saying has happened...when I'm from. Twenty-thirteen." And hold...after hearing all that, she has to think if anything actually worth mentioning has happened.

...

She has nothing. "The great year that the government finally announced Area fifty-one actually existed." Yep. Nothing.
protectorrobot: (Default)

[personal profile] protectorrobot 2014-07-21 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh! I know that year. That's when America invented the Sea-Water to carbon based fuel. Like Fossil Fuels, but neutral to the environment. Helped keep them strong through the Fuel Crisis of 2066. I think only France and USA went through that okay," He tilted his head.

"Then again, 2013 was 220 years before I was built though."
