Outbound Flight will be arriving at your first brave new world on September 7th.
Orntell 6 is a frontier planet, right smack dab in the butthole of nowhere and claimed by no central government. As such, it has been claimed by a cosmopolitan bunch of peoples, representing groups ranging from political exiles, granola-crunching neo-hippies, mega-corporations looking to exploit the planet's mineral resources, colonists looking to start a new life on a farm.. and, of course, the sorts of criminals who tend to like a place that's got no strong central government. Most of the planet's ecology is temperate and pretty fertile, and thus far the megacorps have been sticking to the asteroids in the system... probably because of the smugglers and pirates who use the planet's large spaceport, New Lyceus, as a home base.
It's a combination of wild west and Greek city-states around here. Perfect location to do a little resupplying and get some R&R. Your shuttle port will be in New Lyceus, where official business can be billed to the ship's stash of valuable items, or you can try your luck with your own barter and trade. Speeders can be had to take into the countryside, though FYI this isn't a planet that's axed its megafauna yet and there are a lot of rather big toothy things that like to come out after sunset. Still.. lots of scenery and lots of things to do if you don't mind it a little rustic.
On the ship, the excitement from the past month means that the environmental controls are still just a little dodgy. Expect temperatures to hover in the 60s for most of the month, with the occasional night-cycle low in the 50s. This would be a good time to break out the blankets.
September Events
As always, you can check the Calendar for a handy month-to-month view of game events.
Planetfall is September 8th. Characters will be able to take the one working shuttle to the planet's surface and try their luck. The Master will have various resupply orders that the players will be able to fill when they're planet-side... or not as they choose, though that might impact the availability of certain supplies through October. There will be an NPC post to that effect around planetfall.
Otherwise, the world is everyone's to explore and get in trouble on. Local NPCs are in player hands unless you're really hankering for some massive property destruction and/or a murder spree that might bring the law down on you. If your character will be picking up some.. items, please put a comment in the resource request thread below and I'll get back to you with what your character can find.
There are currently no player plots scheduled for September.
